Curious - the game of learning App Reviews

If you love to learn...

You will love this app.

I had to come and rate this

I love this app especially for my son. Very educational and informative. Good job devs

Will you pay?

Before I get to the cons here are the quick pros. The videos are very clear and precise, you can enroll in courses, and watch How To videos as f they were TV. But having to subscribe for the actually useful videos isnt a good move. Not everyone will want to pay $5 each month or $50 each year to be able to actually get to the explaining part of the video. Also I dont see any profile settings, you can comment but not see your own profile? Last is the variety. Some topics have lots and lots of videos to choose from, while others barely have 5! The variety needs to expand. Otherwise its a good app to keep handy.

A rip off

I didnt know you had pay for this app just took my money with out telling me I thought it was free

Netflix for Learning Anything

Awesome app. Used Curious to teach myself a variety of new skills from my iPad! No ads, fun quizzes to reinforce the key take aways, video lessons for just about every topic. I highly recommend it!

Ummmm... Not paying

Im not going to pay to learn how to do things. I expected learning lil bits of knowledge from this app, but instead got the "please buy to proceed". I am very disappointed ☹️

Good lessons but pricey content

Overall I like this app. Its one of the reviewer said its Netflix for learning. Although some of The lessons learned could also be found on YouTube it is more difficult to get a comprehensive view of the subject. I also like that certain subjects like Arduino have more than one teacher as sometimes its easy to learn from one person then another just based on personal preference. One downside to the app is that it is expensive. Some other things that I dont like is that the notification from email to the app is a little tricky and often times requires me to sign it which makes it a little annoying.

Misleading

Very interested in trying the "free trial" before paying $4.99. If they truly feel they have a great product they would let people try it for free as advertised. To go through the process of setting up an account only to find out that its not a free trial at all is annoying, misleading and poor form.

Addicting

I love this site. It has something new and different every day and I wish that they would post more than one curious fact each day. However if you scroll down you can see many more articles.

Wouldve subscribed except for annoying free trial

I just started a 30-day trial, and the content seems pretty solid so far. Then I found a video with some cool interior design ideas, and I tried to show it to my wife the next day. Spent 10 min trying to replay the video, but it kept showing the "quiz" that shows up at the end of each video (quiz = a single, multiple choice question that the app literally wont let you get wrong). Then it automatically moved on to the next lesson. Either the app only lets you watch each lesson once during the free trial, or thats the way the app works all the time. Either way is unacceptable, imho, considering the $89/yr subscription fee. I wouldve been willing to pay the subscription for good content, but got so annoyed with the app that I wont be coming back.

Well-Designed, Solid App for Online Learning

Ive used curious.com, as well as the app, for awhile now. The app is just as well-designed as the website, in terms of esthetics and usability. With a myriad of topics, ranging from academic to DYI, there is something for everyone. I appreciate that not just anyone can post videos/lessons, and that there is quality control in terms of content. Its a pleasure to utilize the app to gain knowledge about a specific topic, or just surf a bit to learn something new and fun.

Good idea, needs better fact checking

Interesting concept, but presents scientifically dubious advice as fact (in at least one instance I found).

Watch out!!!

This app is all about spam!!! They send you multiple emails a day. Like 4+ and another 4 notifications. Annoying and not even that cool

Getting to fancy

I really like the interesting articles on "curious" things but thats all I want to read from you. Im not interested in lessons and I dont like the "read more" option in the middle of the interesting story Im reading that directs me to your web page where I have to find my place to continue reading the article. I miss the original Curious app without all the bells and whistles.

I dont recommend it for anyone

Not interesting! Waste of money!

Courious

This app was mentioned in an Apple magazine. Very worth while, probably going to purchase a year. Well organized, and easy to navagate.

So Fun Learning!

This app is so much fun. There are tons of excellent videos on all kinds of topics. I have been spending time on the crochet videos, learned a lot. There is probably a topic for everyones interest. Totally worth getting this if you enjoy learning new things or improving skills you already have. I love this app! Try it!

Needs a SHARE button.

I find a lot of interesting articles I would love to share on Facebook. The More About this article links do not have a share button either.

Very happy with it

I got this app a while back and forgot about it.. Apparently they made some upgraded changes that I really like! The knowledge wheel is motivating and there are so many interesting classes to take in a wide range of subjects... I hope they continue to offer such awesomeness at affordable tiny prices :-)

Great app, show, company ... Everything!

I first learned of Curious.com on a Virgin America flight from Dallas to San Francisco- it was a free on board video selection & was so impressed with the content and organization of the program that I googled the company when I landed and was even more impressed with the scope of classes, apps etc that I immediately joined up and it has been a daily reward of learning and expanding my knowledge and interest base! I highly recommend joining and engaging- itll change your life :))
