Better than I Imagined

"Curious" is surprisingly entertaining and educational. My favourite features are that you learn small snippets of information in a very short amount of time.Love it!!

Name and/or icon colours need to change

Seeing the icon colours with the word curious makes it uncomfortable for myself or anyone that takes my device to scroll through. Please fix that if possible. Thanks.

Love learning!

Im highly motivated after my first Curious app course on goal setting with Hari Kalymnios. I look forward more lessons in my other selected tracks!

A beneficial way to relax

I have loved having this app! Now in my downtime instead of playing mindless crap on my phone I can casually be learning something. The tracker provided is easy to use to set goals and gives you a visual aid of what youve accomplished. Theres tons of courses on interesting things, from hobbies, work improvement, lifestyle improvement, science, etc. the videos and articles are easy to digest and fun.

Lost in learning

I literally cant get enough of this app. I love learning and now I can learn everything! Taffy M. San Diego

Misleading!

After you spend time filling everything out for an app you think is free, youre then told you have to pay to get the information to help learn. It wouldnt be so annoying if we were told this before filling out everything but of course it waits until after.

I wish they told us it wasnt free :/

I basically wasted 10 minutes on this and then I found out you had to pay for it! Really? I was so excited for this too.. But nope, it cost $4-8. Dont waste your time on this if your not going to buy it.

Love this app

Others have complained about not telling about monthly fee but it does say in app purchasing so when I see that be cautious because it means that you will need to spend some money

Up front honesty

Just like everyone else join for free but get to the end free for 30 days then pay do not be deceitful by say free then only for 30 days so many people want to make themselves better but people like you dont care all you care about is money just up front say free for 30 days then describe you payment options

Misleading = greedy

Wasted time setting up through the app to find out its not free...though advertised as such

Somewhat deceptive, wish it was free!!

It is an ok app; I do wish it was free. I know that everyone needs/wants their money for learning. It is kind of deceptive that way. Otherwise, there is a lot of positive information on this site if you are interested in lifelong learning.

Pay to Play

App would be cool if you didnt have to pay for it. They offer a few free tutorials but the bulk of the app requires yearly fees.

How do you cancel?

I dont want, need or use this subscription. In fact, it was a mistake in the first place. I cant find how to cancel it ANYWHERE. Any help out there?

Its a great way to learn something new

Often I only have a few free minutes to learn something new. This app provides me with that "new". Whether its science, arts, or any of the other 6 options, I can choose from whatevers available to me that day, or I can go into the "browse" section & choose something from there. Its a great app, well designed, full of good information. However, only the 1st month is free, which it does tell you, after you download the app. I bought a subscription because learning something new, daily, is important to me. I highly recommend, if learning something new is your thing too.

If you love to learn. . .

you will love this app.

Incredibly Expensive

While the idea behind this app is amazing- it costs more than Netflix on a monthly basis! Rather than using ad revenue, or a one time purchase of a few dollars, Curious costs a whopping $8.99 a month or $50 a YEAR! If curiosity drives you... read a book or google your question. In an age where all information is available instantaneously for free Curious is curious.

Cool but could use improvement

The overall premise of the app is awesome. The interview at the beginning is straightforward and simple which is nice. But once you get into the app, navigation is a bit confusing. Its not very organized or clear about some menus and options. I also dont understand what the different lessons are and what the progression is for the artistic/musical categories. It seems to just show a bunch of random lessons under different menus and columns. Besides the daily dose, which sticks to the progression. And I dont feel like it quite understands what I want. I said that I want to learn cartoons and animation, but it keeps giving me 3-D animation lessons. Maybe this is just a problem with needing to be clearer about what the categories are. But I want to stick with this app and I really hope it keeps improving.

Horrible.

20min worth of starting questions just to login to need an expensive subscription to view any video. Deleted immediately. Very disappointed.

An educational app which needs tweaking

First of all, an overall rating of 2.5 stars is too low for an app that has had a lot of time and effort put into it. I feel it should be at least a 3 star. I like having a Curio come to me daily for me to explore new things. It just expands my mind about things I never wondered about. I can browse it "free" without subscribing to even the free 30 day trial. I also like that it has a little bit of everything although it would be nice if it would have more in depth material also about the categories Im searching in. I’m also unsure what the target audience here is… Some of the things on Curious you can find on YouTube… However, I don’t have to deal with the ads and having to go through all the low quality material there to get to the good stuff. I haven’t signed up for the subscription yet, but I am thinking about a subscription. I think a starting price of $8 a month is a little high since, as someone else mentioned, you could get a Netflix subscription for about the same. How bout $5 a month and $45 a year? That way after the free 30 day trial Im not forking over $8 if I am not sure if it has lasting value. A suggestion… I like the Netflix model of profiles… Kids versus Adults… While I don’t want this to become a Kids App, maybe it could rate certain things as G, 13 and under, and 14 and over. I would like my middle schooler to be able to access the content about html and coding without learning about fertilization. And my older elementary school age children can do the drawing, painting, and crafts on the app. I also like that this is a Family Friendly app.

My best friend

I love curious. It works well with voiceover. The only thing that doesnt work well is the submit exercise button.
